Kevin Van Tine
After three years of ministry in southern Illinois, Kevin, Jan, and their one-year-old daughter moved back to Canton, Illinois. Canton is Kevin’s home town and he often laughs over the fact that he said he would never live in Canton again. Now, after over three decades of ministry, he is so thankful that God is the One who leads and guides.
Kevin served as a pastor of a denominational church until Holy Spirit whispered a new direction. In 1988 Kevin and Jan began a new adventure and Covenant Community Fellowship began. An adventure it certainly has been! Kevin has enjoyed ministry to not only his community and region, but also around the world, serving in Haiti, Germany, Russia, Mexico, Mozambique, and Scotland.
Kevin and Jan enjoy spending time with their family. They are parents to three daughters: Alicia (Kyle) Bloyd, Ashley, and Abbie (Stephen) Colwell. They are grandparents to Camri, Micah, Zion, Emma, Rawlings, and Noelle.
Pastor Patty Hoffman grew up in Canton, graduating in 1982 from Canton High School. She continued her education at Spoon River College, earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. Pastor Patty and her husband JR have four sons: James, Michael, Ethan and Oliver; and two daughters, Ali and Arriana. Pastor Patty served as a volunteer with the children’s ministry for almost six years, and in June 2006 joined the church staff as full-time children’s ministry director. She was ordained as children’s pastor in December 2008. JR and Patty have served for 20+ years as foster parents and continue to share their home and Jesus with children that need a family.
